Chapter 390 Apology
Chapter 390 Apology
"Oh, no, I'm fine." Qiao Yueru finally realized how could she stare at a man, and her face suddenly felt hot.
"Girl, please get up quickly. The ground is cold, be careful not to hurt yourself." The man spoke in a gentle tone, full of concern, and reached out his hand to help her up.
Qiao Yueru was already excited when she saw the handsome man, and he cared about her so much that she felt her heart pounding like a deer.
He subconsciously reached out his hand, held the man's big white hand, and stood up with the help of his strength.
After she stood firmly, she pulled her hand back embarrassedly. Because she was too nervous just now, her palms were covered with sweat. As a result, the moment she let go of her hand, Qiao Yueru saw with her sharp eyes that there was a stain on the man's hand.
I was so embarrassed that I just wanted to find a place to hide, and I lowered my head and didn't dare to look at him.
The man naturally noticed it as well. The corners of his mouth trembled. He resisted the urge to lose his temper and glared at her fiercely.
It’s a pity that Qiao Yueru lowered her head and did not see this scene.
"There is a teahouse not far ahead. I wonder if the young lady would be so kind as to apologize for my rudeness just now." After a few deep breaths, the man spoke again.
Being invited by such a handsome man, Qiao Yueru felt dizzy and forgot what she was doing here. She nodded involuntarily.
She also did not forget to carefully put away the silver and gold hairpin in her hand. She thought it was okay to go to the pawnshop later, there was no need to rush.
When she was a young lady from an official family, many young masters showed interest in her, but she was too proud and arrogant at that time, always wanting to marry into a rich family, so she never got married.
Ever since she left the Qiao Mansion, everyone she used to know avoided her like the plague and scorpion, and even stayed away from her when they met.
But this young man, whom she had never met before, actually took the initiative to invite her for tea. Qiao Yueru couldn't help but start to wonder, could it be that this young man fell in love with her?
She blushed, lowered her head, and said in a voice as soft as a mosquito: "Okay then."
She exuded a pungent smell all over her body, her hair was like a mess, her face was unkempt, her face was flushed, and she looked shy. It seemed inappropriate no matter how you looked at her, so the man had to endure it again and again.
The two then came to the teahouse. Qiao Yueru sat upright on a stool with her body straight. The man sat opposite her with a gentle smile on his face.
The teahouse owner had a look of disgust on his face and specially found a corner seat for them so as not to affect the business of the store. He also allowed the young man who came with her to come in, seeing that he was dressed decently, otherwise he would not have let her in, as it would have been unlucky.
"Have some tea, you two." He poured them some tea with an impatient tone, then left quickly, as if he was avoiding the god of plague.
The man saw it clearly, but he hadn't finished his work yet, so he could only endure it.
A smile appeared on his face, and he kept fanning himself with the folding fan in his hand. The weather was not hot, so he was not fanning away the heat, because only in this way would the smell emanating from Qiao Yueru be reduced.
"Miss, I'm so sorry for what I did just now. I was walking in a hurry and didn't accidentally bump into you. I'll offer tea instead of wine as an apology." The man spoke sincerely and drank the tea in his hand in one gulp.
"It's also my fault. I didn't look back when I turned the corner." The other person had apologized, so how could Qiao Yueru accept it happily? Besides, she was really fine.
The man stood up, picked up the teacup in front of Qiao Yueru, and then with lightning speed, he flicked all the powder under his fingernails into the cup.
Then he shook it twice casually, and the powder floating in the water quickly merged with the water, as if nothing had happened.
Qiao Yueru didn't dare to look into the man's eyes. She took the cup timidly and drank from it in small sips. She put it down after just a few sips. Although she was thirsty and hungry at the moment, she knew that the man opposite was looking at her and she had to maintain her image.
It was now May and the weather was getting warmer. Qiao Yueru was nervous and her palms were sweating. There were several clear black handprints on the cup she put down.
The man swallowed hard, thinking he could hold it in, but he couldn't. Anyway, she had drunk the water, so he thought it would work after the party.
"I'm going to the bathroom and will be back soon." The man said and left without waiting for Qiao Yueru to answer.
Qiao Yueru was left alone. She looked around to see that no one was paying attention to her, and drank the water in the cup in one gulp.
She hadn't had tea for a long time and almost forgot what it tasted like. She called the boss to add more tea for her and drank three cups in a row before she was full.
The man was hiding outside the door, and he could see every move of Qiao Yueru clearly, which made him feel even more contemptuous.
It felt like she had been waiting for a long time. Qiao Yueru began to look listless, and finally she slowly leaned over the table and fell asleep.
After waiting for a while, he found Qiao Yueru lying on the table motionless. Then the man walked over, paid for the tea, struggled for a long time, and helped Qiao Yueru out of the teahouse.
Qiao Yueru's money was hidden on her, so it was inconvenient to take action in the teahouse, so they could only drag her outside to a secluded place.
The man looked around and saw that there was no one. He put the unconscious Qiao Yueru to the ground, clapped his hands in disgust, and then took out all the silver and gold hairpins from her body.
He actually found a few extra coins. He counted them and found there were six. He really didn't like the few coins and wanted to put them back immediately. But then he changed his mind and thought about the disgusting look that the ugly guy had given him just now.
So he took the copper coin back. No matter how small the fly was, it was still a piece of meat. Six cents could buy two meat buns. How could he let this ugly thing get away with it?
Don't you think about your own character? How dare you have such desires for him? You really deserve a beating, the man thought hatefully. Then he kicked her twice as if to vent his anger and then walked away.
Qiao Yueru was sleeping soundly on the ground, and her dreams were full of delicious food. She had returned to the Qiao Mansion and was still living a life of luxury, but she could never feel full no matter how much she ate.
Then I woke up while eating. The moment I opened my eyes, I was still a little dazed and couldn’t tell whether it was a dream or reality.
When she opened her eyes, she saw the blue sky. It took a while for her thoughts to come back to her mind. She thought about what happened today. She met Miss Cheng, who gave her silver, and then she met a very handsome man.
The two of them went to drink tea together. Later, she felt sleepy and fell asleep on the table. But why did she end up lying on the ground? Where was the man?
I stood up and looked around, but I didn't see the man. Could he have left? I didn't even know his name, so how could he have left?
It was all her fault. Why was she sleeping so well? The capital was so big, where could she find him? She pounded the ground in frustration. Even though she was frustrated, she felt that she was not worthy of him with her current status.
Fortunately, I met Miss Cheng today and gave her some money. The days ahead should be much better.
