Chapter 806 Okay
Chapter 806 Okay
"Fine! I'm leaving!" Asuma roared, his voice filled with pain. "I will never appear before you again!"
After saying that, he turned around abruptly and ran away into the distance without looking back, his back view appearing so lonely and sad.
Zhang Hai watched Asma walk away and sighed inwardly. He admitted that Asma's last words resonated deeply within him. In some ways, Asma was right; in their relationship, Zhang Hai had wronged her more. He had always been casual about romantic relationships, never truly loving anyone or feeling that he couldn't live without her. He began to reflect on whether he had made a mistake and whether he should let go.
Kurenai wiped away her tears, looked at Zhang Hai with pitiful eyes, and asked softly, "What are you thinking about? Why aren't you saying anything?"
Zhang Hai removed his mask, revealing a handsome face tinged with weariness. He took the hand held by Yuhi Kurenai and said softly, "Let me treat you first."
As green chakra lit up, a gentle healing energy instantly enveloped Kurenai's palm. The wounds on her hand healed at a visible speed, quickly returning to their original state without leaving a single scar.
This was the first time Zhang Hai had examined Yuhi Hong's face so closely. She had cherry blossom-colored lips, crystal-clear red eyes, and a delicate, adorable little nose, all combining to create an innocent and lovely face. She was like a little girl who made you want to hold her in your arms and cherish her.
Yuhi Hong blushed slightly under Zhang Hai's gaze, her face turning a rosy blush that added to her charm.
Zhang Hai smiled faintly as he gently embraced Xi Ri Hong, holding her tightly in his arms.
"Hong, I'm sorry," he said softly, his voice filled with apology and complex emotions.
Yuhi Hong didn't understand why Zhang Hai apologized, but she didn't ask any more questions. She just hugged him tighter, as if she wanted to completely merge herself into his body.
"Perhaps Asma is right, I am indeed unworthy..." Zhang Hai's voice carried a hint of self-mockery.
"Don't say that!" Yuhi Hong abruptly interrupted him, raising her head and looking at Zhang Hai with unwavering eyes. "I know our relationship myself, and I don't need outsiders to interfere. No one can interfere! I've made up my mind about you!"
Zhang Hai sighed, his eyes filled with a mixture of helplessness and doting affection.
"What if you find out I'm a big bad guy later?" he asked softly.
Kurenai thought for a moment, then tilted her head and asked, "That depends on how bad you are."
“The really bad kind of bad,” Zhang Hai said mysteriously.
"How bad is that?" Kurenai asked, her eyes filled with curiosity and seriousness.
Zhang Hai reached out and gently pinched her nose, affectionately calling her "silly girl."
"Do you like silly girls?" Kurenai asked in return.
Zhang Hai casually remarked, "What man doesn't like a fool?"
No sooner had he finished speaking than Zhang Hai felt a sharp pain in his hand as Yuhi Hong bit him. He gasped and looked at the "silly girl" in front of him with a wry smile.
Kurenai Yuhi smiled smugly, a sly glint in her eyes.
"This is a mark!" She raised her chin, her tone domineering. "If you turn bad, I'll bite you to death!"
Looking at her adorable appearance, Zhang Hai's eyes flashed with a hint of doting affection. With a touch of vengefulness, he used his fingertips to lift Yuhi Kurenai's chin, his starry eyes narrowing as he smiled wickedly.
“Then I’ll have to bite back.” His voice was deep and magnetic, with a hint of seduction.
Despite saying he wanted to bite, Zhang Hai carefully and gently kissed her red lips. Savoring her fragrance and softness, everything around him quieted down, as if time had stood still. He was immersed in her tenderness, feeling each other's warmth.
At that moment, Zhang Hai made up his mind. What a joke! His woman, whether she lived or died, could only be his.
After learning from Kurenai Yuhi that Shinku had gone to the Hokage's office, Zhang Hai left the tranquil haven and went straight to the Hokage Building. It turned out that there were too many people needed for the post-war reconstruction work, and Shinku, due to her experience, had been recruited as an assistant by the Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi.
Arriving at the Hokage's office, Zhang Hai gently knocked on the door. After receiving permission, he pushed it open and entered. The office was a hive of activity; several people were working on a mountain of documents, the atmosphere quiet yet tense. Koharu Utatane and Homura Mitokado, two elders of Konoha, were also helping, which spoke volumes about the heavy workload after the war and explained why Shinku hadn't received treatment.
The Third Hokage glanced at Zhang Hai briefly, took a puff of his pipe to refresh himself, and a tired smile appeared on his face.
"Night, you've come." He greeted her.
Zhang Hai stated his purpose frankly: "Yes, Hokage. Kurenai Yuhi was seriously injured in the battle a few days ago and has not been to the hospital for treatment, so I came to see him."
Upon hearing this, Zhen Hong trembled slightly, a hint of emotion appearing in his eyes. He hadn't expected Zhang Hai to make a special trip for him.
Upon hearing Zhang Hai's words, the Third Hokage looked at Shinku in surprise. After careful observation, he found that what Zhang Hai said was true; Shinku's face was indeed somewhat pale, and her body appeared rather weak.
"Shinku!" The Third Hokage's expression immediately turned serious, tinged with anger. "Why aren't you getting treatment for your injuries? Why are you working day and night here? What if something happens to you?!"
Shinku opened his mouth, wanting to say "not much...", but the Third Hokage didn't give him a chance to explain.
"Don't push yourself!" the Third Hokage commanded forcefully. "Rest for a week. Don't come over during these few days."
Zhenhong sighed and glanced at Zhang Hai with a wry smile. He knew Zhang Hai was thinking of his health, so he couldn't say anything.
Just then, the office door was pushed open with a bang. A reckless figure rushed in—it was Asuma, his face filled with anger and pain.
The Third Hokage noticed Asuma's emotional expression but didn't dwell on it. Instead, his face hardened, and he reprimanded Asuma, "No manners! This is the Hokage's office. Knock before you speak!"
However, Asuma was completely absorbed in his own emotions and didn't hear the Third Hokage's words at all. He stood there blankly and shouted, "I've been out of school for years and I've already become a Chunin! Why won't you let me go to the battlefield?! I want to carry out a battlefield mission!"
The Third Hokage's expression darkened.
"Nonsense!" he shouted angrily.
Asuma requested permission from the Third Hokage to go to the battlefield on a mission, his voice filled with anxiety and resentment.
"Why won't you let me go to the battlefield?! I'm already a Chunin!"
The Third Hokage's gaze turned stern, and he said in a deep voice, "Ninja mission assignments are based on individual strength. You are not yet qualified to go to the battlefield, nor do you understand the conditions required to go to the battlefield!" The Third Hokage flatly rejected Asuma's request.
