Chapter 301: The Noisy Finale (Part 5)
Conan nodded. "Indeed, although Miss Margaretha is a survivor, her physical condition and personality make it impossible for her to do that. Uncle Muro and Sister Valletta were not at the scene, and Brothers Joke and Mike were both out shopping that day. It seems that the missing Mr. Serge is the only suspect."
Amuro Toru thought for a moment and said, "The current information is still too little. Let's see if we can get more useful information from other people."
It was already night when they heard the sound of music. Conan and the other two followed the sound and finally saw the savage, spider, acrobat and crying clown rehearsing in the living room.
Some old record players were playing cheerful music, the magnetic needle was spinning around on the record, and the Crying Clown was standing in the middle of the room, doing a simple tap dance.
Savage saw the three of them arrive and greeted them warmly: "Good evening, Conan, we are rehearsing for the performance."
Amuro Toru walked to the side of the phonograph curiously: "There's such an old-fashioned music player here, and it even has a matching disk?"
Spider took a few steps forward. "This is what Violetta found while she was practicing. I didn't expect there would be such a suitable song on the record. It's amazing!"
The Savage walked up to the Spider and praised him, "Thanks to Violetta for discovering this record player, we can rehearse better, right, Violetta?"
"Yes, yes, Valletta is one step closer to her dream!" Spider waved his hands excitedly.
At this time, there was a noise outside the living room door. Shuichi Akai pushed the door open and saw that it was the somewhat panicked dancer. The dancer became even more nervous when she saw Shuichi Akai suddenly open the door.
"I, I just heard familiar music, so I came over to take a look..." The dancer slowly walked into the room.
"I'm sorry, Natalie, you haven't been in a good mood recently. I wanted you to rest in your room, so I didn't call you." The Crying Clown stopped dancing, scratched his head and explained to the dancer.
"Since Miss Zelai is here, why don't we do it again?" The acrobat still didn't give the dancer a good look.
Spider immediately turned on the record player again, and as the music started, the Crying Clown started dancing again.
"Ah, you're still great, Sergei." Halfway through the dance, Spider applauded and praised the dancing Weeping Clown.
Everyone suddenly stopped and looked at the spider in shock, and the acrobat had an expression of disbelief on his face.
"Valletta, what did you call him just now?" The acrobat's expression became a little serious.
"Ser...Sergi." As if realizing that he had said something wrong again, the spider took two steps back in fear.
The dancer next to her seemed to be frightened and took several steps back. Noticing this, the Crying Clown quickly stepped forward to explain.
"Natalie, it's me, I'm Jack."
The dancer looked at the crying clown approaching and suddenly showed an extremely terrified expression: "No! Serge! Don't come over here!"
The dancer stumbled back and accidentally fell. Even so, she did not stop being afraid. She held her head with both hands in fear and shrank her body: "No, please... Serge, don't hurt me..."
The Crying Clown was a little anxious: "Natalie, what's wrong with you?"
The Savage stepped forward and held the dancer's shoulders: "Relax, Natalie, Serge is not here."
The dancer stood up with the help of the savage and the crying clown. She looked around as if to confirm whether Serge was there.
"Don't be nervous, Natalie, it's Valletta who made a mistake," the Savage continued to comfort her. "Valletta is just not familiar with them."
Spider stepped forward at this time: "Yes, it's all Valletta's fault. It's all Valletta's fault for saying the wrong thing. I'm sorry, Natalie, oh no, it's Margaretha. I'm sorry, Valletta won't say it again."
The dancer took a few deep breaths and said, "Sorry, I look a little tired. I think I'd better go back to my room and get some rest."
Then the dancer walked up to the spider again and said, "I'm sorry, Violetta. I'm just a little distracted. Violetta, I know you're looking forward to this performance. Perhaps tomorrow morning we can get together to discuss the performance."
Spider immediately became happy: "That's great, Natalie, oh no, Margaretha. Margaretha, let Violetta take you back to your room."
The dancer nodded and left the room with Spider. The Weeping Clown wanted to follow suit. "Well, I'll go to the kitchen and make a pot of hot tea. I think Natalie isn't in a good condition."
The Weeping Clown followed the two men and left, leaving only the Savage, the Acrobat, and Conan in the room.
"Huh? What is this?" The acrobat picked up a piece of paper from the ground.
Conan leaned over and said, "It looks like Sister Valletta's performance sheet."
"There were only four empty seats on the roller coaster, so one person had to leave?" The acrobat scratched his head. "That's really strange, if I remember correctly..."
"Moon River Park seems to have a roller coaster, but that model of roller coaster clearly has five empty seats." The savage thought with his chin in his hand.
Conan took the performance sheet from the acrobat and read the words carefully: "Five children... five children... I always feel that this ballad is a bit like Ten Little Black People."
The Savage seemed startled. "No, it's not that exaggerated. We were invited here just to participate in a performance."
Amuro Toru asked in confusion: "What did your invitation letter say?"
"Participate in the show, complete it, and you'll get what you want most," the acrobat explained, spreading his hands. "The invitations to Zelai, Valletta, and me were all given by that Jack."
The Savage also explained, "As for Jack and I, our invitations were sent directly to the Crystal Palace. There was no sender's name on it."
Akai Shuichi then pressed on, "So, how did you get to the manor? And who was responsible for receiving you?"
"Well, we arrived at the manor at different times. I was the last one to arrive besides you. A large, silent man brought me here. He wore a mask with antlers, and I don't know what he looked like," the Savage said after thinking carefully. "But I remember his breathing was heavy, like he was trapped in a metal tube."
Conan immediately recalled the Deer Head dressed in "steampunk" clothes that attacked them on the Ezembard.
The acrobat added, "The only people who greeted us were a maid and a butler. They left after the five of us arrived, saying that we should arrange our own rehearsal time and that they would notify us when the performance was about to begin."
"Is that so?" Akai Shuichi frowned. "It seems our situation is quite passive."
Amuro Toru carefully examined the second half of the lyrics on the set list: "I always feel like these lyrics are foreshadowing something..."
"The first child raised his weapon and he couldn't wait to join the game."
"The second child looked away, trying to keep her fear to herself."
"The third child said we are a family, so there must be a better way."
"The fourth child is hell-bent on seeking justice, so someone has to pay."
