Chapter 105 Yaotian is disbanded
Chapter 105 Yaotian is disbanded
"Where did Cain go?" Shangguan Wan'er frowned, looking at the empty courtyard with worry in her heart.
"He just caused such a commotion, I hope nothing bad has happened to him." With that, Shangguan Wan'er ran towards the main hall with a worried expression.
The city of Chang'an was in chaos. Everyone was preoccupied with their own survival and thought that some terrible disaster had occurred. Fortunately, the government acted quickly and soon arrived at the scene, where they began to calmly reassure the people.
……
"Interesting, the entire city of Chang'an is changing."
Milady stood outside the courtyard, watching with great interest the dramatic changes taking place in Chang'an, where she had been the least affected.
"What a grand gesture! No wonder you are the Grandmaster Mozi, building the entire Ark into a city. In terms of mechanical arts, I would now call you the strongest, but it won't be long before I surpass you."
Mechanical servants hummed and whirred as they surrounded their queen.
……
[The right power...]
This is what that being inside the "gate" was saying, or rather, what that being had a strong and profound thought.
I had a brief exchange with him—
She thought the same as Cain: the power would one day be unlocked, and someone would crave it. The fate of being unlocked was already sealed; it was just a matter of time. It was better to guide than to block. Entrusting it to a worthy and powerful person, and only by properly mastering and utilizing it, and coexisting with it in an ultimate balance, was the right thing to do, and it was Nuwa's true wish.
She didn't disappear with the Ark Core forever, but sealed it away and set a key, which shows that she still hoped that her descendants could do it and realize her ideas.
"What are your plans?" Cain snapped out of his thoughts and looked at Zhang Taixian and Li Bai.
"I must hurry back to Jixia to report to my masters. I'll take my leave here. Until we meet again." Zhang Taixian said solemnly.
“Wait, I’ll go with you, Zhang Taixian,” Li Bai said, his carefree and unrestrained demeanor seemingly diminished, replaced by a greater sense of composure.
Zhang Taixian nodded and agreed to let Li Bai accompany him on his journey.
"I need to prepare for my trip to Jixia in a few days, so see you then."
After saying goodbye to the two, Cain looked at Chang'an Avenue. The night, which should have been completely quiet, was now brightly lit and chaotic.
Government officials are leading the people in an orderly manner, and everything is slowly recovering. Chang'an will not collapse because of this disaster.
Cain's mind was racing. Beneath the beautiful surface of this world lay so many unknowns and hidden secrets. This was no ordinary alternate world.
“I seem to have forgotten something?” Cain looked at the still towering clock tower and suddenly remembered.
"Yaotian! Oh dear, I almost forgot I have a mission. It's past midnight now, let's go check it out. Anyway, it's the last mission."
With that, Cain ran toward the clock tower.
After Cain left, Zhong Kui appeared in front of the [door] at some point, his eyes flashing with eerie blue flames as he looked in the direction Cain had gone, before turning and entering the [door].
At this point, the mechanism's hinges turned, and the door began to slowly close, concealing the mysterious red and blue light, awaiting its next opening. Who will appear before it then?
……
Upon reaching the top of the clock tower, Cain saw Yao Tian and the others standing there waiting for him.
"Oh, Cain, you're finally here. You're late." Pei Qinhu was the first to complain when he saw Cain arrive.
"Sorry, I ran into some trouble on the way," Cain said apologetically. He thought Yao Tian would have left because of his lateness, but he didn't expect him to still be waiting for him.
"You've run into Zhong Kui again?" Gongsun Li said with a smile, teasingly.
"Uh, haha, I guess so." Cain was taken aback and said helplessly. She was half right, but he didn't say the rest. After all, Ming Shiyin was still around, and he seemed to be on Di Jun's side.
Although Cain and Ming Shiyin were at odds, the others were unaware of Ming Shiyin's true nature and thus avoided involving them.
"Kain, you..." Gongsun Li looked at Kain, hesitating to ask him about Ming Shiyin being wanted, but was interrupted by Ming Shiyin.
"Let's put the chatting and joking aside for now; it's time to take on your tasks."
Ming Shiyin said, his face showing no emotion, he just glanced at Cain calmly, as if he did not hold a grudge against Cain.
"Okay, boss, go ahead and speak." Pei Qinhu and the others listened attentively.
"Mission: Yao Tian, disband." His expression was calm, seemingly unaware of how astonishing his words were.
A look of "I knew it" flashed across Yang Yuhuan's eyes, and she felt a pang of sadness. Was this Yaotian's last mission?
"what?!"
Everyone was shocked, completely unexpected that Ming Shiyin's mission would be like this.
"Hey, you're kidding me, right? You were just trying to liven things up, weren't you?" Pei Qinhu couldn't believe it.
"I'm not lying."
"Your mission this time is to disband Yaotian," Ming Shiyin said calmly.
"Why, why disband Yaotian? Is it because of that incident?" Gongsun Li asked cautiously, her voice trembling slightly.
Having been orphaned and destitute in her childhood, she worked hard to enter Yaotian. In her heart, Yaotian was her home. Ming Shiyin was like a father, Yi Xing was her younger brother, Pei Qinhu was her older brother, Yang Yuhuan was her older sister, and soon Kaiyin became her older brother. They were all together, and there was so much joy in it. She enjoyed this warm atmosphere and should have been very happy. So why was she like this?
Although Ming Shiyin made a mistake, she didn't understand why Yaotian had to be disbanded. She could have waited for Ming Shiyin to repent and return. She didn't understand why the bonds between everyone had to be severed and the family had to be broken up.
“Fate has begun to move forward once again, and I no longer need you,” Ming Shiyin declared, his voice cold and resolute.
"You bastard, say that again!" Pei Qinhu roared, grabbing Ming Shiyin's collar in a fit of rage.
"What do you take us for? A disposable tool? What about all the time we spent together before?"
"I don't need you anymore. We only meet because of fate, Ali. That's what you like to say, isn't it? Now you can say that our fate has run its course. The children's game of justice is over. It's time to part ways. This is destiny." With that, Ming Shiyin turned to leave.
“But…” Gongsun Li hesitated, as if something was breaking in her heart.
"What fate? Explain yourself clearly." Pei Qinhu tried to stop Ming Shiyin, but he moved with lightning speed, already appearing beneath the bell tower.
"Farewell," Ming Shiyin said calmly.
"Master..." Yi Xing was at a loss.
"Damn it, what does he take Yaotian for? He just abandons it like that!"
Pei Qinhu angrily slammed his fist into the ancient bell, which emitted a long, resonant sound before leaning dejectedly against the wall.
As the bells rang, everyone except Cain fell silent for a moment, trying to calm their intense emotions.
Everyone entered Yaotian for different purposes. Over the years, Gongsun Li's liveliness and cuteness, Yang Yuhuan's gentleness, Yi Xing's composure, Pei Qinhu's generosity, and Ming Shiyin's infallible strategies have become part of their lives. They often get together to chat, sing, dance, and do tasks together. Each person complements and helps the other, and a sense of family gradually arises in their hearts. With nowhere else to go, they come together to form a family. Yaotian is not just a name, but a group of people.
But now this family is gone, dismantled by its own "family members".
"Is Yaotian really gone?" Cain's words stunned everyone.
"What exactly is the Yaotian you all believe in? Ming Shiyin abandoned Yaotian, and you all followed suit and abandoned Yaotian too?"
"Because... we are gathered here, we have formed the Yaotian family. As long as we are here, Yaotian will not fall apart!"
Gongsun Li's eyes lit up, and her pair of droopy rabbit ears stood up. Although she was sad, she found hope.
This also gave others direction.
“Then we are the new Yao Tian, born from Yao Tian.” Yi Xing suddenly realized.
A new Yaotian was born, existing solely as a family, where each person determined their own future direction.
"I'm going back to the Great Wall. Ming Shiyin keeps an eye on it. There must be something there. I'm going to wait for him there, question him, and bring him back. At the same time, it's time to face those brothers. I've been hiding for so long," Pei Qinhu decided.
"The Great Wall..." Gongsun Li's heart stirred, and the black-haired figure seemed to appear in front of her.
"Perhaps I'll stay in Chang'an," Yang Yuhuan said sadly. She didn't know where to go, and glanced at Cain.
“Everyone, go back and think about it again,” Cain said.
