Chapter 290 Project 3 (1)

Chapter 290 Project 3 (1)

Normally, the start of the summer term meant Lamia would be dragged by Harry to help him train, as this would be the last Quidditch match of the season.

But this year, both Lamia and Harry had to prepare for the third and final task of the Triwizard Tournament, although, neither of them knew what they were supposed to do right now, and strangely, everyone seemed to have forgotten about it.

However, in the last week of May, Snape kept Lamia after Potions class.

"Tonight at nine o'clock, be at the Quidditch field." Snape said reluctantly to Lamia, and left without even waiting for her to reply.

Lamia didn't have time to ask clearly, but she didn't plan to chase after him to ask clearly, because she knew that Professor McGonagall would definitely tell Harry, and she was easier to talk to than Snape.

"Oh, Professor McGonagall said Mr. Bagman is going to be there to tell us what the third project is."

Harry said as he looked at Lamia standing in front of him.

So, at half past eight that evening, Lamia came downstairs, and Harry hadn't come out yet. As Harry just walked through the hall, Lamia saw Cedric coming out of the Hufflepuff common room.

"What do you think our third project will be?" Cedric turned and asked as the three of them walked down the stone steps and merged into the overcast night. "Fleur kept nagging about the underground tunnels. She thinks we're looking for treasure."

"That's not bad," said Harry.

Lamia nodded as well. If that was the case, she would ask Newt for a Niffler.

They walked along the dark grass towards the Quidditch pitch, then entered through a gap between the stands.

"What are they doing here?" Cedric stopped abruptly and said angrily.

The Quidditch pitch was no longer flat and smooth. It looked as if someone had built countless long low walls here. These low walls were intricate and winding, stretching in all directions.

"It's the wall!"

Lamia put her hands on the nearest piece of wall.

"Hello!" shouted a cheerful voice.

Ludo Bagman stood in the center of the field, flanked by Krum and Fleur.

Several people walked towards them, Fleur's face was full of smiles, especially after seeing Lamia, she was now very friendly to the students of Hogwarts, without any of the arrogance she had at the beginning.

"Well, what do you think?" Bagman asked cheerfully as they approached. "Good progress, isn't it? In another month, Hagrid will have them twenty feet tall. Don't worry."

But Harry, Cedric and Krum did not approve of their wanton destruction of the Quidditch field.

"Listen here, everyone. Once the Championship is over, your Quidditch pitch will be restored to its original state. Well, I think you can probably guess what we're going to do here, right?"

No one spoke for a long time after Bagman finished speaking. Just as he was about to tell the content of the project, Lamia suddenly spoke.

"Maze." She had already looked at the terrain while passing the wall, and she really couldn't think of anything other than a maze.

"Correct!" Bagman glanced at Lamia gratefully. "The third task is very simple and straightforward. The Triwizard Cup is placed in the center of the maze. Whoever touches it first will get full marks."

"Just pass through the maze? So simple?" Furong said in disbelief.

"There'll be lots of obstacles," said Bagman cheerfully, hopping up and down on his tiptoes. "Hagrid's provided a whole host of animals... and there are spells that have to be broken... and that sort of thing, you know. But you'll all have to fight to succeed. It'll depend on how well you can get through the obstacles. It should be fun, huh?"

Fun?

Lamia didn't think so. The animals she saw at Hagrid's place were more outrageous than the other. How could they be fun?

But even though she was complaining in her heart, she didn't show it on her face.

"Very good... If you have no problem, let's go back to the castle, okay? It's a bit cold here..."

As everyone crossed the growing low wall together, Krum, who had been walking at the back, suddenly took a few steps forward and said, "Lamia, can I talk to you?"

Lamia looked over in surprise. She felt that she had nothing to do with Krum at all, so what could she say to him?

"Sorry, I want to go back to bed early." Lamia refused Krum. She didn't want to cause trouble at this time. Tom might be secretly observing her.

"It'll just be a little while, I'll be done in no time." Krum kept following Lamia.

"Lamia, I'll accompany you. Krum might have something urgent to do." Harry said next to her. Lamia didn't know if it was an illusion, but she always felt that Harry was just watching the fun. He had known about Tom's existence for a long time.

"Then go ahead." Lamia still insisted on her choice. She would not take risks for such a small matter.

Lamia thought she had made herself clear, but she had not anticipated Krum's resolve.

Krum stopped, and just when Lamia thought he was going to give up, Krum suddenly whispered an apology, put his arm around Lamia's waist, and flew into the sky with her.

Lamia was startled and grabbed Krum's robes in surprise. When did he take out the broom? Was this the strength of a Quidditch star player?

"Lamia, Lamia!"

Harry followed. Krum's speed was not very fast, but the three of them soon arrived at a quiet place.

"Whatever you want to say, you'd better say it quickly." Lamia was at her wit's end. She really couldn't believe that Krum would dare to do this.

"Lamia, don't be angry, the girl in the second project is my sister." Krum looked like a Tibetan mastiff that had made a mistake, although it was a very big one.

"I'm not angry, I know, and then what?" Lamia covered her eyes helplessly. Why did they have to come to such a secret place for such a small matter? If she had known this, she would have left with him.

"Can I invite you to visit our school after the project is over?" Krum said nervously.

Lamia stopped talking. She didn't know how to refuse without making Krum act impulsively again. If he got angry and kidnapped her, she would be really helpless.

"Lamia won't go. She has a fiancé and they might get married as soon as they graduate." Harry didn't know what was wrong, and the words came out of his mouth without thinking.

"What?" Krum looked at Lamia in disbelief. "Impossible!"

"I'm sorry, but what Harry said is true. We have a good relationship." Lamia sighed, raised her eyes and said seriously.

Krum seemed to be struck by lightning for a moment, and did not speak for a long time. His hands hung limply beside his legs, and his broom fell to the ground.

Harry felt a strange mixture of happiness and sympathy for Krum.

"Oh, is that so? Never mind then. I wish you happiness."

After a long time, Krum finally spoke. Saying this sentence used up all his strength and he could not say anything else.
