Upon seeing Fang Li, Xu Fangye's furrowed brows immediately relaxed, and he quickly stepped forward to greet her: "Where have you been? I called you but you didn't answer. I thought something had happened."

His tone was flat, and he said, "I just finished using the restroom and took a walk around the neighborhood. I ran into an acquaintance and we chatted for a bit."
"An acquaintance? Who is it?"
Fang Li: "You don't recognize me? I'm a classmate from high school whom I haven't been in touch with for a long time. I almost didn't recognize her."
She avoided Xu Fangye's probing gaze and walked sideways toward the restaurant, saying, "Didn't we agree to eat? If we don't go now, the food will get cold."

Fang Li's fingertip paused on the screen for a second before she turned off her phone just before Xu Fangye looked at her.

After safely bringing Fang Li back, Xu Fangye sat for less than five minutes before getting up and leaving in a hurry.
Watching his departing figure, Fang Li suddenly curled her lips into a meaningful smile.
