Chapter 252 - 249: It’s That Woman From Just Now
But she was almost certain the man in the car was Seth Quinn. After all, she had once been quite familiar with him.
In the year since he and Autumn had called off their engagement, the Shelby Family had been secretly keeping tabs on Seth Quinn, especially his love life.
However, a while ago, Sarah had suddenly told her father that Seth Quinn was aware the Shelby Family was secretly prying into his affairs, and she advised him to stop before he went too far.
Evan had followed her advice, so the Shelby Family hadn’t had any concrete news about Seth Quinn for some time.
Her friends had invited her to play cards today, and she hadn’t planned on going. But when she heard the game was in Seth Quinn’s apartment complex, she went, hoping she might be able to find out something about him.
Sure enough, she ran into him before she even got into the complex. ’But who is that woman in the passenger seat?’
’Does Seth Quinn have another woman now?’
The more Yvette Zimmerman thought about it, the more alarmed she became. ’Autumn is still recovering; she can’t come back yet.’
In the year since Seth Quinn and Autumn had called off their engagement, he had been cold toward every woman he met, which always made them feel that Autumn still had a chance.
’Maybe Seth Quinn is still thinking about Autumn. That must be why no other woman can catch his eye, and why he hasn’t been with anyone else, right?’
’Otherwise, how could a man like him—who was perfectly straight and had every woman in Novaria flocking to him—possibly not have a woman by his side?’
That was why she, Evan, and Autumn herself had all been hoping that once Autumn recovered abroad and returned, she and Seth Quinn could get back together.
’But now, if Seth Quinn really has found someone else, what on earth are we supposed to do?’
At this thought, Yvette Zimmerman grew worried. Pondering, she said to Cherie Rhodes, "I saw there was a woman in the passenger seat. She looked a little familiar, but I can’t remember where I’ve seen her before. Where could it have been? Cherie, help me think. Have you ever seen that woman anywhere?"
"I... I didn’t look that closely. I couldn’t even see her face clearly." Cherie Rhodes smiled at Yvette Zimmerman, but a closer look would have revealed that her smile was a little unnatural.
Yvette Zimmerman shot her an irritated glare. "I suppose since it isn’t your daughter, you can’t be bothered to pay attention!" she said angrily.
"I do care about what happens to Autumn. It’s just... who would have thought we’d run into Seth Quinn here? If I’d known, I definitely would have taken a second look to see her clearly." Cherie Rhodes seemed completely unbothered, her gentle smile never wavering as she spoke in a soft, measured tone.
Inwardly, however, she was starting to panic. She had, in fact, seen Seth Quinn, and she had also recognized the woman in the passenger seat as Sarah’s friend, Clara Grant.
Although she didn’t know why Clara was with Seth Quinn, she knew she couldn’t let Yvette Zimmerman find out that the woman was Clara.
Otherwise, there was no telling what Yvette Zimmerman—who was still holding out hope for Seth Quinn and Autumn Shelby—would do to Clara.
Yvette Zimmerman, however, paid no attention to her words, her brow furrowed in deep thought. A moment later, it was as if she’d remembered something. "Hey! Speaking of Sarah, that reminds me. I think that woman from before was a friend of hers. Named... what was it... Clara?"
"Really?" Cherie Rhodes chimed in hurriedly. "How could that be? Why would she be with Seth Quinn? It definitely wasn’t her."
Yvette Zimmerman shot her another irritated glare. "Why wouldn’t it be possible? I remember the last time Sarah came home to the Shelby estate, she begged Evan to find some acting resources for that... that Clara. Oh, I remember now! She showed us a picture back then. The person in the photo was her—it was the same woman from the car."
