Chapter 156: Thrilling Treasure Hunt

Lily and her companions successfully took back the ancient book from the mysterious man, but she knew that this was just the beginning. The tutors of the academy began to study the contents of the ancient book, hoping to unlock the secrets. However, Lily always felt that things were far from that simple.

One evening, Lily, Mo Li, Xiao Pang, and Feng Yang were discussing their next plan in the academy's garden. Xiao Pang suddenly asked mysteriously, "Have you ever heard of the lost treasure?"

"What treasure?" Mo Li asked curiously.

"It is said that there is a cursed treasure in the far south, which contains endless wealth and power." Xiaopang blinked his eyes, "But it is not easy to find it."

"The Far South?" Lily seemed to be thinking, "We just came back from the Far North. Are we going to the Far South again?"

"That's right!" Xiaopang said excitedly, "Also, I heard that the treasure there is somehow related to this ancient book."

Lily frowned: "If this rumor is true, we must investigate."

One of the new friends is a mysterious ranger named Xuanying. He is agile, never misses his arrows, and is good at surviving in the wild. He tells Lily and her group that he is also looking for a lost treasure.

"Why are you looking for that treasure?" Feng Yang asked.

"Because I heard that there is a holy medicine there that can heal all wounds, and I need it to save my loved ones." A trace of sadness flashed in Xuanying's eyes.

Lily nodded: "Then we can act together and help each other."

Xuan Ying readily agreed, and they continued on their journey. As they got closer to their goal, the journey became more dangerous. They had to cross a cursed forest, where the trees seemed to have life blocking their way, and some strange creatures lurked in the shadows.

Xiaopang shuddered: "This place is really creepy."

Under Xuanying's leadership, they finally passed through the cursed forest and came to a huge stone tablet. There were ancient characters engraved on the stone tablet, and Xuanying recognized that these characters were the same as those in the ancient book.

"This must be the clue that will lead us to the treasure." Xuanying said excitedly.

Lily opened the ancient book and compared the words on the stone tablet, and found that they actually formed a map. This map pointed to an ancient temple, which was the location of the treasure according to legend.

Following the instructions on the map, they finally arrived at a temple hidden in the mountains. This temple was simple and solemn, and seemed to have been abandoned for many years. The door was closed, and there were complicated runes engraved on it.

"It seems we need to decipher these runes." Mo Li said.

Xuanying nodded: "These runes look complicated, but there should be a way to decipher them."

After some effort, they finally cracked the rune and opened the door of the temple. The interior of the temple was dark, and the air was filled with a mysterious atmosphere.

"Everyone be careful." Lily warned.

They walked into the temple carefully and found that it was well preserved. The walls were covered with ancient murals that seemed to tell some ancient legend.

"These murals seem to describe the origin of the treasure." Xuanying said.

Just as they were studying the murals carefully, a strange sound came. They turned around and saw a figure walking out from the darkness. It was a man in a gorgeous robe with a cold smile on his face.

"Hello, I've been waiting for you for a long time." said the man.

"Who are you?" Lily asked warily.

"I am the guardian of this temple. You can call me Night Shadow." The man sneered, "You shouldn't have come here."

"We just want to find the lost treasure, we have no ill intentions." Xuanying said.

"Treasure?" Ye Ying sneered, "Do you think this is just an ordinary treasure? The secret of the entire magic world is sealed here."

Yeying suddenly launched an attack, a powerful magic wave hit, Lily and the others immediately took a defensive stance and fought hard.

"It seems we have to defeat him before we can move on!" Feng Yang shouted.

The battle was fierce, and Ye Ying's magic was so powerful that Lily and her companions could not resist it for a while. At this moment, Xuan Ying shot an arrow and hit Ye Ying's shoulder accurately.

"Do you think you can defeat me like this?" Ye Ying sneered, and his wound healed quickly.

Lily suddenly thought that perhaps the ancient book contained clues to defeat Night Shadow. She quickly flipped through the ancient book and found a powerful sealing spell.

"Everyone hold on, I'll cast the sealing spell!" Lily shouted.

The companions tried their best to hold Ye Ying back. Lily focused on chanting a spell, and a beam of light burst out from her hand and hit Ye Ying directly. Ye Ying screamed in pain, and his body was gradually surrounded by the light, and finally turned into a ball of black mist and disappeared.

"We succeeded!" Xiaopang said excitedly.

After the night shadow disappeared, a golden light suddenly lit up in the temple, and a hidden door opened. They walked in and found a huge treasure house filled with gold, silver, and various precious magic items.

Xuanying found the bottle of holy medicine and said excitedly: "Thank you, I can finally save my loved ones."

Lily smiled and said, "You're welcome. We also found a lot of valuable things."

They collected some treasures and left the temple. Although the adventure was full of dangers, they gained more friendship and trust. Lily knew that the journey ahead was still long, but with these companions by her side, she was full of confidence and courage.
