Chapter 377 Two-Sided Game
Chapter 377 Two-Sided Game
When Lin Chuyue stepped out of the car, her mood was heavier than she had expected. A cool night breeze swept over her, but she didn't stop. Behind her came Li Zhanchuan's icy voice: "Are you sure you want to do this?"
She didn't turn around, her gaze fixed straight ahead. Though her heart was filled with doubt, an even stronger force was a suppressed anger and determination. "I've made up my mind."
Although Li Zhanchuan didn't say much, every word was as sharp as a knife, piercing her confidence. She knew clearly that her decision was not only a battle with Shen Fang, but also a break with everything from her past. She had been loved in that warm home, and felt peaceful in her father's arms, but all that beauty had collapsed because of betrayal and conspiracy.
Now, she has no choice but to move forward and become stronger.
When she entered the room, Lin Zhengguo still hadn't shown up. She knew he must be in the secret meeting room she had arranged, discussing something with Shen Fang and the others. Every step she took felt like walking on a knife's edge; one wrong move and she would fall into the abyss.
But she had no retreat.
"What do you plan to do?" Li Zhanchuan's voice came again. He was still standing at the door, seemingly hesitant, yet waiting for her answer.
Lin Chuyue gazed resolutely out the window, the night sky a reflection of her own heart, vast and profound. She took a deep breath and said slowly, "I will make Shen Fang understand that it is not her who is involved."
A smile flickered in Li Zhanchuan's eyes; he had never seen Lin Chuyue so resolute. "Very good," he said softly, his deep voice carrying a hint of hidden approval, "This is the Lin Chuyue I've been waiting for."
However, just as she was about to continue discussing the plan, the phone in the room suddenly rang, breaking the brief silence.
Lin Chuyue picked up the phone, and her mother's anxious voice came through the receiver: "Chuyue, you're back?"
She paused slightly, a sense of unease rising in her heart. "Yes, you're back."
“That’s good,” Lin Yun’s voice was tinged with suppressed emotion. “I…I have something I need to talk to you about, about your father.”
Lin Chuyue's heart suddenly raced, as if she had a bad premonition. "What's wrong?"
"Don't get too excited." Lin Yun's voice was low, as if an indescribable tension permeated it. "I learned from your father that he is preparing to announce a decision tomorrow regarding you and Gu Yanchuan. Shen Fang's plans have also changed, which may have some unfavorable consequences for you."
"What?" Lin Chuyue stood up abruptly, her gaze sweeping coldly out the window. She knew she didn't have much time left to waste. "The forces behind Shen Fang have already begun to move?"
“Yes.” Lin Yun’s tone was even lower. “I suspect that your father and Shen Fang have reached some kind of agreement. This time it’s not just about suppressing you, but about completely removing you from the family’s plans.”
Lin Chuyue gripped the phone tightly, her heart burning with rage. She knew she had been driven to the brink; only by breaking free of all constraints could she finally escape this trap.
“You can’t do this,” Lin Yun’s voice choked with emotion, “You can’t put yourself in that situation, otherwise…”
"I know." Lin Chuyue's voice was icy cold, almost devoid of emotion. "I'm prepared, no matter the cost."
After hanging up the phone, Lin Chuyue's mood grew increasingly heavy. She understood that her situation was becoming more and more complicated. Shen Fang's relentless pressure was no longer a simple family dispute, but a complex situation affecting the entire Lin family and even more powerful forces.
Li Zhanchuan walked over and stood beside her, his deep voice carrying a hint of pressure: "Are you ready to face Shen Fang's counterattack?"
A cold glint flashed in Lin Chuyue's eyes as she gazed resolutely into the distance. "No one can stop me now," she said in a low, determined voice.
Li Zhanchuan said nothing more, his gaze fixed on her, as if awaiting her final choice. Lin Chuyue knew that there was no turning back.
In this game, there are no winners, only those who can break the deadlock.
The next day, Lin Chuyue stood before that familiar door, her inner tension transformed into a surge of anger that relentlessly propelled her forward. She gripped the documents in her hand tightly; they contained all the evidence she had meticulously prepared. Once activated, Shen Fang would have no chance of retaliation.
However, she also knew that this step was not just a simple challenge to Shen Fang; behind it lay her father and other hidden forces. Before all this happened, she had to determine if she could withstand the impending storm.
Just then, Li Zhanchuan's car stopped in front of her, the window slowly rolled down, and his voice came again: "Ready?"
Lin Chuyue looked up at him and smiled slightly: "Of course."
She finally took that step, determined not to look back.
