Nirvana Heiress: Reborn and Returning to Stir Up a Storm

Chapter 184 The Storm Rises Again

Chapter 184 The Storm Rises Again

The next morning, when Lin Chuyue entered the company, she ran into Luo Yurou.

Luo Yurou was wearing a beige shirt and a high-waisted long skirt today, which made her look gentle and graceful. When she saw Lin Chuyue, she took the initiative to greet her and said in a soft tone, "Good morning, President Lin."

Lin Chuyue smiled slightly and nodded: "Good morning."

The two weren't particularly close; after all, Lin Chuyue's past relationship with Gu Yanchuan had always kept a certain distance between them. But now everything had changed, and Lin Chuyue's attitude towards Luo Yurou had become much more peaceful.

"President Gu has just arrived at the conference room. Would you like to come along?" Luo Yurou asked softly.

Lin Chuyue looked at her and smiled, "You go ahead, I still have some things to take care of."

Luo Yurou nodded, turned and walked towards the conference room. Lin Chuyue watched her leave, her eyes slightly lowered.

She had to admit that Luo Yurou was indeed a very suitable candidate. She was gentle, generous, knowledgeable and reasonable. Compared to an ambitious woman like Lin Yun, she was obviously more likely to make Gu Yanchuan settle down.

Thinking of this, she suddenly felt relieved, a faint smile appeared on her lips, and she walked to the other side.

Cooperation and advancement

The cooperation meeting officially began at 10:00 AM.

Inside the conference room, Lin Chuyue sat in the main seat, her eyes focused on the data analysis on the projector, while Li Zhanchuan sat to her right, his fingers lightly tapping the table, his expression calm.

Li Gang was giving a financial report at the front, and he said succinctly: "Based on the current financial assessment, our cash flow in the second quarter is fully capable of supporting the commissioning of new projects. We expect the gross profit margin to increase to 18%, a figure that is already at a leading level in the industry."

Lin Chuyue nodded slightly, her gaze turning to Li Zhanchuan: "Mr. Li, is there anything you'd like to add?"

Li Zhanchuan casually twirled the pen in his hand, his gaze deep: "The data is ideal, but I hope we can have a more detailed plan for cost control. The market is constantly changing, and we need to prepare for the worst."

Lin Chuyue understood the deeper meaning in his words and smiled slightly: "I understand, you mean to set aside funds in advance to deal with risks?"

Li Zhanchuan nodded, his voice low: "That's right, especially with Shen Fang temporarily absent. The situation may seem calm on the surface, but there are actually undercurrents."

The meeting room fell silent. Everyone knew that although Shen Fang had been defeated and forced to retreat abroad, she would not give up easily.

Lin Chuyue pondered for a moment, then said firmly, "I will arrange for the finance department to conduct another risk assessment and readjust the budget plan."

Li Zhanchuan gave her a deep look, and the corners of his mouth slightly raised: "Then I'm relieved."

Unexpected person

After the meeting ended, Lin Chuyue had just returned to her office when she received a call from the receptionist.

"President Lin, there is a man outside who claims to be President Zhao and wants to see you."

Lin Chuyue's gaze darkened, and her fingers tightened slightly: "President Zhao?"

She quickly realized that Mr. Zhao was Shen Fang's powerful backer. After Shen Fang's incident, Mr. Zhao had not made any public appearances, but she never expected him to come knocking on her door today.

Lin Chuyue said in a deep voice, "Please let him in."

A few minutes later, the office door was pushed open, and a slightly overweight middle-aged man in a dark suit walked in with a smile on his face, but his eyes were so sharp that they sent chills down one's spine.

"Miss Lin, I've long admired your name." President Zhao smiled and extended his hand, his attitude seemingly gentle, but in reality carrying a scrutinizing meaning.

Lin Chuyue shook his hand politely, then gestured for him to sit down and got straight to the point: "President Zhao, you must have something important to discuss with us today, right?"

Mr. Zhao smiled slightly, a glint of shrewdness flashing in his eyes: "Miss Lin is indeed clever. I've come here today to discuss Shen Fang's matter."

Lin Chuyue's gaze turned cold, and she said indifferently, "Shen Fang has already left the company. If President Zhao is here to plead for her, I'm afraid there's no need."

Mr. Zhao shook his head, his smile unchanged: "No, I'm not here to plead for you. I just want to remind Miss Lin that victory in the business world is never decided in one fell swoop. Just because you won once doesn't mean you can win forever."

Lin Chuyue sneered inwardly, but remained outwardly calm: "Thank you for the reminder, Mr. Zhao. I will naturally be cautious in every step I take."

Mr. Zhao looked at her meaningfully and slowly stood up: "Very good, I believe Miss Lin will not disappoint me."

After saying that, he straightened his suit, turned and left, leaving the office in silence.

Lin Chuyue sat quietly in the chair, her fingers slowly tapping on the table, her eyes flashing with coldness.

As expected, Shen Fang's power was not completely destroyed, and President Zhao would not give up easily.

Thoughts at night

Back in her apartment that evening, Lin Chuyue made herself a cup of hot tea, sat by the floor-to-ceiling window, and gazed at the dazzling night view outside, but Zhao's words from earlier that day kept replaying in her mind.

She knew she couldn't let her guard down.

My phone vibrated; it was a message from Li Zhanchuan: "Still busy?"

Lin Chuyue replied, "Just got home."

A moment later, Li Zhanchuan called. She answered and heard his deep voice: "You look like you have something on your mind."

Lin Chuyue smiled slightly: "I guess so. President Zhao came to see me today."

There was a few seconds of silence on the other end of the phone, then Li Zhanchuan said in a low voice, "Be careful, this person is not simple."

Lin Chuyue replied softly, "I know."

Li Zhanchuan said slowly, "If you have any questions, please let me know."

Lin Chuyue leaned back on the sofa, gazing out the window, a slight smile playing on her lips: "Yes, I won't be polite."

Neon lights flickered outside the window, and Lin Chuyue's gaze gradually hardened—she was no longer a pawn to be manipulated, but a player who controlled the entire game.
