Chapter 52 The Situation is in Problem
Chapter 52 The Situation is in Problem
Joey snapped out of his reverie from the memory crystal. Indeed, as Kara had said, it was the morning of the next day. The information in the crystal was like a dream, captivating those who viewed it.
What awaited him was Kara's huge eyes, almost touching his face, which startled Joey so much that he nearly blurted out something unintentional:
"Don't you... have anything else to do, Kara? I remember you said last night that you were going to stabilize the Anarchist forces in South America."
"Rest assured, all the firearms in South America have been destroyed by me, and the war has been forcibly stopped."
Kara blinked her large, bright blue eyes, made a throwing gesture, and a silly grin spread across her face:
"If they want to start another war now, they'll have to rely on stones and spears."
"Okay." Joey wasn't surprised. He had once glanced at South America and there was nothing there that posed a threat to the Kryptonians.
Although Kara's simple and crude approach can only be considered a stopgap measure, it can at least effectively delay things. Now, all Joey needs is time.
As usual, wars are raging across the planet, though some are more significant than others.
Joey spent an entire night researching Kryptonian technology and, based on various theoretical analyses, concluded that there was nothing wrong with his watch.
That's really weird.
Joey planned to leave Lonely Fortress first and head to the British Isles to urge the Amazons to evacuate as soon as possible. If they stayed any longer, the Gauls across the English Channel would inevitably have to submit to the Amazons.
Kara watched as the preoccupied Joey turned to leave, her smile instantly vanishing, replaced by a look of struggle. She couldn't help but call out to him, "Karl El?"
"Huh?" Joey almost didn't realize Kara was calling her; she hadn't mentioned her Kryptonian name much lately. "Is there something else?"
Kara's silly smile from just moments ago had vanished, replaced by worry: "What should I do?"
"Do what you want to do, help others." Joey still thought the other person was troubled by the cries for help echoing across the globe.
"Focus on thinking, filtering out the irrelevant parts of these prayers and pleas for help, and helping those who need help more—such as the food crisis in Africa right now."
Kara simply nodded silently upon hearing this, then took off and soared out of the Lonely Fortress.
Joey felt that Kara had been acting strangely ever since Lonely Fortress was built, but he couldn't quite put his finger on why.
Perhaps it was the Lonely Fortress and those memory crystals that made her nostalgic, reminding her of the now-extinct Krypton?
Feeling lonely and without a sense of belonging is a very common thing, especially for someone like Kara.
Kara's entire life has been spent on Krypton for over a decade. The most profound part of her life on Earth so far is probably the dark memories of being trapped in the laboratory, which hardly counts as a part of her life.
The reason why Joey is now focusing on making every possible effort to quell the crisis in this world and try to bring the best outcome to everyone is because he is only a Kryptonian in body. Whether it is the old or the new life, he has basically lived as a human.
Kara was simply driven by compassion, feeling that "it is unbearable to see them live but not die," and was doing good deeds on her own initiative. Joey could only marvel at how much more proactive she was than he had been back then, and how she was truly heroic material.
Before going to find Diana, Joey, still skeptical, took out his time watch and started it decisively—if there was no problem, then there shouldn't be.
A flash of yellow light, and Joey, who had disappeared from inside the Lonely Fortress, reappeared in Tony Stark's house, not in the world he had just left behind.
This time, however, it appeared directly in Stark's bedroom.
"Holy crap!" Joey and a startled Tony exclaimed in unison.
At this moment, Joey also felt that there was some reason why Clark Kent often shielded his superhuman senses, so that he wouldn't be able to see clearly what Tony was about to do after turning off the lights:
"Fuck you, Tony! Learning Russian is one thing, but hiring three teachers at once?"
Joey slipped out of the bedroom. The current situation wasn't too awkward; what he feared was that the shameless Tony might say something shocking that would make the situation even more embarrassing.
What kind of mess is this? He's racking his brains in the Flashpoint world, trying to figure out how to prevent the world from physically falling apart at the lowest cost.
Meanwhile, some superior grandsons in this world can continue their dissolute behavior for several more years, and the purple sweet potato spirit from the distant deep space will not come to Earth for a long time to strengthen him.
"Fuck you, Joey! Didn't anyone teach you to respect privacy? You ruined my ninth celebration since my rebirth!"
A few minutes later, Tony, dressed in his pajamas, emerged from the pile of beauties in the bedroom, still armed with a Mark 6 pulse cannon, and pointed it at Joey with ill intent:
"You should know that, according to the 'Fortress Act,' I can now legally use lethal force against you, right?"
"The teleportation point is not something I can decide."
Joey was fiddling with his watch, completely ignoring Tony's verbal threat.
"Go back to studying your foreign languages, Tony. There's a whole world waiting for me to save!"
A flash of yellow light, and Joey vanished without a trace, leaving Tony utterly exasperated and furious.
"Jarvis, record this energy spectrum. I need to figure out a way to shield it! Also, buy me that forest villa on Long Island. I'm moving in tonight!"
"Executed. By the way, the other party just took the latest Arc Reactor from your lab."
"Fuck Joey! I should have fired!"
Joey took the reactor just as conveniently as possible. He could easily build one himself with a little time using Lonely Fortress now, but why not take the one that's readily available?
Tony Stark doesn't need these few pennies.
Now that he has found a technical solution to the climate problem on Paradise Island in the Arctic, since he's already here, he might as well take that thing as a stable energy source.
Once Paradise Island is restored to its former tranquil and pleasant climate, there will be little resistance to Diana pushing her people to withdraw from the human world.
Next, all that needs to be done is to resolve the Atlantis issue; Earth will at least return to its previous state.
The situation is clearly moving in a positive direction.

The unexpected loss of communication with Abin Sue cast a shadow over Steelbone's memory.
Cyborg's heart skipped a beat when he recalled the tone of the other person's voice when they talked about that alien.
Even the news of a war between Wonder Woman and Aquaman on Earth hadn't alarmed Abin Sue this much.
According to research data from the laboratory, the first experimental subject, named "Kara Zo El," once stated that her home planet had begun to disintegrate when she left, and she was likely the last surviving person on the planet.
However, at least two similar alien entities have already appeared on this planet.
One of them, the woman locked in the laboratory, had just demonstrated the terrifying ability to quell the armed forces of the entire South American continent in fifteen minutes.
Meanwhile, another male individual, acting on information from an informant embedded in the British Isles, nearly killed Wonder Woman in a one-on-one battle, forcing the Amazons to halt their expansion.
What if there are more than two such individuals, and the first and second are merely preludes to the other side's invasion of the planet?
The situation is clearly developing in the worst possible direction.
