Chapter 554: Two Princes
Chapter 554: Two Princes
"How likely do you think it is that I'll be able to break into the prison?"
What?! Are you out of your mind?!
The shopkeeper could no longer control his fear and grabbed Lin Rusi's wrist tightly, pulling her deeper into the room.
Realizing this was a bit troublesome, I was just about to say something else when I heard him lower his voice.
"Please, Madam, do not do such a risky thing. You should know that this could mean losing your head."
“I know that’s how it is, but if I don’t do it, his only chance is to die.”
But the shopkeeper was still nervous and even tried to persuade Lin Rusi to give up.
Unfortunately, the other side had already considered one possibility and looked directly in the direction of the imperial city.
“There should be other ways. Tell me more about these princes.”
"You... never mind, it's normal for someone of your status not to want to see this situation."
The shopkeeper looked towards the palace with a somber expression and whispered the place he knew.
"In fact, the Emperor did select a Crown Prince, but that person was too useless, which caused the other princes to look down on him and even do more ruthless things, making them forget about him."
"So, neither of the crown princes has much of a chance of winning, so why are you talking to me about him?"
Lin Rusi wanted to urge the other party to continue revealing the identities of the other people, but then she heard the other party sigh again.
His restless emotions were finally somewhat suppressed, and he turned to look at the shopkeeper, urging him to continue.
"But it was he who managed to capture that prince."
"Is it him? Or someone else behind him?"
The shopkeeper hadn't expected Lin Rusi to know so much. He swallowed the words that were on the tip of his tongue, coughed lightly, and composed himself.
Only after confirming that there were no problems with the conversation did they continue.
"That person always has a strategist by his side; that person is extremely capable."
"Is it impressive? It would be great if we could catch them."
Lin Rusi pondered for a moment, then turned her gaze to the shopkeeper, "How are the others?"
"If this hadn't happened, the greatest hope would have been the Fifth Prince, whose only disadvantage was his age."
Lin Rusi nodded knowingly, then looked puzzled.
"If he is truly capable, why didn't the Emperor change the choice, but instead let that foolish Crown Prince sit on the throne?"
Seemingly having never considered this question before, the shopkeeper paused for a moment, but finally found the simplest explanation.
That's to protect the other party.
Lin Rusi guessed this possibility, but quickly shook her head, denying her own guess.
How is this prince being treated in the palace?
"He should be the most favored, after all, that prince can be considered a genius, and he has never suffered any grievances since he was a child."
They are the chosen ones of heaven.
Lin Rusi nodded knowingly and waved for others to continue talking about the other people.
"The fourth prince's abilities are too mediocre, and he has always been neglected. The third prince, on the other hand, does not compete or fight, and is so quiet that it seems as if he is not a prince."
"Isn't he a prince? But whether he really doesn't want to compete for it, or if there are other issues, nobody knows."
The shopkeeper had never heard such speculation before, and stared blankly at Lin Rusi, indicating that he had no way to respond.
She didn't care whether the other party could accept it or not, and directly asked about the Second Prince's situation.
But just as he finished speaking, a sigh was heard.
"You've been sighing quite a bit today. Is that prince also a good-for-nothing?"
"That's not it, but that prince has an extremely volatile temper, and you could even say that he was involved in the decision to deal with the crown prince of another country."
Upon hearing this, Lin Rusi's face darkened.
Fortunately, Lin Rusi remembered that the most important thing this time was to rescue Li Jingyang, so she naturally wouldn't waste time on such a simple and easy-to-understand person.
"So, the one who's easiest to cooperate with here is the Fifth Prince. Has anything happened to him?"
How did you know?
The shopkeeper was surprised, but seeing her somewhat impatient expression, he immediately told her about the Fifth Princess's illness.
This is like someone bringing you a pillow when you're sleepy.
Lin Rusi casually placed a few bottles of medicine on the table and looked at the shopkeeper.
"What...what do you mean by this?"
"Judging from the waiter's tone, you must have entertained quite a few distinguished guests, and you must know quite a few people, right?"
"That's right. You wouldn't be thinking of using this method to get in, would you?"
Although they came into contact with many people, they were still businessmen after all, so how could they have too much contact with them?
Just as the shopkeeper was thinking about how to tell his master that there was no possibility, several bottles of medicine rolled down in front of him.
“These are typhoid medicines and wound medicines. Go out and sell them to those who need them.”
"Don't I need to say anything more? Otherwise, people will find out very quickly."
"No need, I'll set up a stall nearby, and the rest is up to fate."
This was too slow, and the shopkeeper was worried that the person might not be able to be rescued. However, seeing that Lin Rusi was not worried at all, he said no more.
Being chosen by her as the manager indicates a certain level of ability; all the pills were sold out in less than half an hour.
Lin Rusi directly asked the shopkeeper to buy the necessary simple herbs and various tools, put them in a wooden box, and placed it on the table that was taken out from inside.
Even so, he didn't forget the simplest thing beside him, and wrote down the four characters "ji shi jiu ren" (meaning "to save the world and save people") with a stroke of his pen.
But she neither shouted out her wares nor dared to attract attention; she simply replenished the sold pills.
One by one, the pills were placed into bottles familiar to everyone else, and then they looked to the side.
"You're the guy who gets people to sell the wound medicine?"
"I did ask the shop owner to help me sell the items to cover the room fee. Is there a problem with that?"
The two hesitated for a moment, but finally reached out and grabbed the person.
Ignoring Lin Rusi's reaction, they dragged and pulled her into the house.
"What are you going to do? Let me go right now."
"Shut up! If you disturb the Fifth Princess Consort, we will not let you off the hook."
Fifth Imperial Consort?
"What exactly do you want? You brought me here without even asking me. Aren't you afraid I'll implicate you?"
None of them spoke, and they simply threw Lin Rusi into the side courtyard where the Fifth Princess was.
The door behind her slammed shut, and she could only pick up the medicine box that had fallen to the ground and walk toward the crowd.
"What exactly happened? Why did this happen?"
"Who knows? None of us can find out what's wrong with the Fifth Princess Consort. If no one can diagnose her illness, none of us can leave."
That's really domineering.
Lin Rusi didn't say much, and walked into the room of the imperial physicians who were shaking their heads, carrying her medicine box.
"Can I try?"
"You? A young girl with blond hair?"
Ignoring the other person's business, he walked straight into the room. Seeing the weak woman, he couldn't help but quicken his pace to approach her.
As soon as I grasped that slender hand, I noticed fine black lines rapidly moving across it.
