Chapter 236 Choi Moo-sung's Sleepless Night
Chapter 236 Choi Moo-sung's Sleepless Night
The night was deep in Fenghuangtang Hutong.
Sunwoo and Bora walked through the alley.
"Go back, your mother is probably waiting for you."
"I can already smell the aroma of the food."
Paula finished speaking with a smile, then sniffed the air with her nose.
Sunwoo took a deep breath, wiped away the remaining tears from his eyes, smiled gratefully at Bora, reached out to push open the door, and stepped inside.
"Mom, I'm back."
"I am hungry."
Sunwoo called out to his mother as usual, showing no signs of anything unusual.
Hearing the voices in the yard, Paula smiled with satisfaction and walked towards home.
..........
Sunwoo's family
"Oh, Sunwoo is back."
"Go wash up quickly, Mom bought you some crucian carp cakes."
Wearing rubber gloves, Sun-young happily ran out of the kitchen.
"Okay, I'll go wash up," Sunwoo nodded with a smile, then looked at Pearl.
Pearl sat at the table, holding a banana and milk, quietly watching TV.
Sunwoo walked over with a smile, and Sunyoung smiled back, her eyes following him the whole time.
"Pearl, what are you eating?" Sunwoo leaned down.
“Banana,” Pearl said, looking at him with an innocent expression.
"Anything else?" Sunwoo asked with a smile.
“Milk,” Pearl answered again.
"Mom, did you buy this?" Sunwoo turned to look at his mother.
“Huh?” Sunyoung was taken aback, but quickly realized what she meant and replied.
"Oh, this is...it was given to me by Aze's dad just now."
She suddenly became nervous, but still forced a relaxed smile.
Sunwoo had already noticed and witnessed it with his own eyes, and the scene before him only confirmed it.
“A-Ze’s dad is a really nice person,” Sun-woo said with a smile, not revealing his mother’s nervousness.
"Oh? Yeah~, you think so too, right?"
"Don't let his burly appearance fool you, he's actually very caring."
"It's completely different from what it looks like!"
"You didn't know, did you? He's actually afraid of mice, hahaha~"
Sun-young seemed to have opened a floodgate of words, and unconsciously, she kept talking.
“Huh? Why would he be afraid of mice?” Sunwoo chimed in.
"Oh dear, I find that strange too."
"Someone who looks like he could wipe out a truckload of rats is afraid of rats."
"Oh right, I think he mentioned that he was bitten by a rat when he was a child, and as a result, he's afraid of rats."
Sunyoung tirelessly recounted Choi Moo-sung's deeds, unaware that Sunwoo was watching her intently as she spoke.
Only after she finished speaking did Sunwoo reply and return to his room.
Sun-young shrugged and, in a good mood, returned to the kitchen to continue washing the dishes.
She hadn't realized Sunwoo's change yet, but when she heard him praise Choi Moo-sung, she subconsciously breathed a sigh of relief.
Being too close to the situation, she was completely unaware of how much she had said.
Perhaps it was just a subconscious desire to let Sunwoo know the good side of Choi Moo-sung.
Sunwoo put down his schoolbag after returning to his room, and just as he was about to open the drawer...
I glanced at the table and saw a bottle of milk and a banana placed there.
Sunwoo reached out, picked up the banana, looked at it, and quietly placed it next to the milk.
Late at night
Sunwoo's room was still lit.
Shanying gently knocked on the door, carrying a plate of crucian carp cakes, and then came in.
"Mom, no need, I'm full," Sunwoo said to his mother.
"Ouch~"
"My son!"
"Still studying so late?"
Sun-young looked at him with a grin.
"Let me do it."
Seeing his mother still approaching, Sunwoo casually took the crucian carp cake.
The crucian carp cake was taken from Shan Ying's hand, and she shook her hand and moved her wrist.
She glanced at the table and saw the leftover banana peels and half a bottle of milk, a smile appearing on her lips.
"Mom, go back and rest."
"I'll watch for a little longer and then go to sleep."
After saying that, Sunwoo focused on reading his book.
Sunyoung looked at Sunwoo's serious profile, reached out to remove the banana peel, pursed her lips, smiled, and left.
When Sunwoo saw his mother leave, his eyes turned to the crucian carp cake. He reached out, picked up a piece, and took a bite.
It tasted pretty good, and he finished it in a few bites.
"Cough cough~~"
While coughing after choking, Sunwoo picked up the milk and drank it all in one gulp.
Sunwoo patted his chest, glanced at the empty bottle, and placed it on his desk.
..........
Phoenix Hall Hutong
A car was parked here.
The assistant turned around and looked at Aze, who was sleeping in the back seat, and called out softly.
"Cui Ze, 6th Dan?"
“Cui Ze…”
Just as the second sound rang out, Aze woke up.
"Cui Ze, 6th Dan, we've arrived," the assistant said with a smile.
"Thank you, agent," Aze said wearily.
"Go back to sleep early, there's a game at nine tomorrow," the agent said with concern.
Aze nodded, pushed open the door, and went downstairs.
"Ah~~"
"Won't this be exhausting?"
The agent sighed, watching Aze's retreating figure with worry.
The car slowly drove away, leaving only Aze walking alone in the quiet alley.
The iron gate was pushed open, and Sunwoo happened to walk out at that moment.
"Oh? Taek?" Sunwoo looked at him. "What's wrong? Did you lose?"
Why do you look so listless?
Sunwoo looked at him and asked.
"Hehe~ It's Sunwoo," Taek said with a smile, his eyes narrowed.
"What's wrong? Let me help you back," Sunwoo said, grabbing his arm.
With Sunwoo's help, Taek paused just as they were about to reach the door.
He didn't know if Cui Wusheng was asleep or not, but after a moment, he resolutely pushed open the door.
"Be careful, the threshold." Sunwoo helped Taek, who seemed too tired to move and let him support him.
"Aze! What's wrong?" Cui Wusheng, who was lying on the table, hadn't fallen asleep and heard the noise.
Pushing open the door, one sees a weary A-Ze and Sun-Yu supporting him.
He quickly ran over and helped Aze on the other side.
Choi Moo-sung looked at Sun-woo with gratitude and smiled. Sun-woo smiled back, but his gaze seemed to dart away, a sight that made Choi Moo-sung's heart tighten for no apparent reason.
“I’m fine, Dad, Sunwoo.”
Aze said with a smile.
"Go inside and rest. You said you were fine, but you're exhausted," Sunwoo said.
Aze's room
They put Aze down, took off his coat, and covered him with a blanket.
Before long, Aze was so sleepy that he fell into a deep sleep.
Choi Moo-seong looked at Seon-woo, who was helping, and spoke up.
"Sunwoo, thank you."
"It's alright, Uncle, you should go to sleep too," Shanyu said.
"Oh, haha, I'm fine. Why aren't you resting so late?"
"You should go back and rest, otherwise you'll be sleepy at school tomorrow."
When Choi Moo-seong spoke of himself, he said he was fine, but when he talked about Sun-woo, he expressed concern.
"I went out into the alley for some fresh air and just happened to see Aze coming back."
Sunwoo glanced at Taek, but a thought suddenly flashed through his mind.
"Uncle, I'll sleep here with Aze."
Sunwoo looked at him and said.
“Huh? A-Ze?” Choi Moo-sung was taken aback.
“That’s true, it’s not convenient to bother Taek.” Sunwoo said apologetically as he prepared to leave.
"No, no, you go to sleep. I feel more at ease with you here," Cui Wusheng quickly said.
Sunwoo looked at Choi Moo-sung, smiled, then moved closer to Taek, lay down, and gently covered himself with the blanket.
Cui Wusheng saw him below the hall, glanced at him, seemed to remember something, and hurriedly left.
A moment later, he came over with a quilt.
If you don't have enough blankets, use one of these.
Choi Moo-sung spread the blanket out and covered Sun-woo with it.
Sunwoo watched as the edge of the blanket, which had been partially covering his hand, was covered by a new blanket, and smiled as he nodded to Choi Moo-seong.
Just as Choi Moo-sung was about to close the door and leave, Sun-woo called out.
"Uncle, milk and bananas, thank you."
Choi Moo-sung chuckled and was about to close the door again when Sun-woo's words came through the crack in the door.
"Thank you for Mom's cold medicine."
"pat~"
The door is closed.
Cui Wusheng was stunned.
Her face immediately showed some panic and confusion as she quickly recalled what Sunwoo had just said and her expression.
He carefully considered the last eight words Sunwoo said.
As if those words had some kind of magic, he couldn't fall asleep even after turning off the lights.
Even in the middle of the night, as he drifted off to sleep amidst his inner turmoil, his dreams were filled with alternating moments of laughter and distress.
