Chapter 174 The Tragedy of the Afterglow
Chapter 174 The Tragedy of the Afterglow
"That~"
“I just…” Aze walked over and was about to speak when Paula interrupted him.
"Hurry up! Sunwoo, what are you looking at?" Bora happened to notice Sunwoo staring at her, and feeling a little guilty in front of him, she suddenly raised her voice and yelled at him.
"Okay~! Almost done~" Sunwoo stuffed the ticket in, took out some coins, inserted them, and dialed...
"Beep beep beep..."
I tried twice, but the call didn't connect.
In Liu Shuyu's car, a phone had fallen under the footrest because Deok-sun hadn't hung it up properly.
The phone was constantly busy.
"Sister? What's wrong?" Yu Hui asked cautiously, looking at her older sister who seemed inexplicably angry.
“There’s no room in the car~ We want to call Seo-woo~ to see if he’s gone back~” Jung-hwan answered for Bora, seeing her keep glancing at Seon-woo.
"Oh~!" Yu Hui glanced at the lifeless-looking salamander in the car and shook his head sympathetically.
"No~ I can't get through to the phone in Shuyu's car~" Shanyu ran back.
"Ugh! Seriously! I don't care anymore!"
"You can each choose one to stay and take the bus home on your own!"
Paula posed a question to the group.
"Come here~"
Paula brought the afterglow back again~
Although Yu Hui looks old, he's still young and can't be left alone.
“Aze, go back with me, I’ll stay here,” Jung-hwan said.
"Sigh~ How can I leave you here alone~"
"Sis, let's take the bus back together~"
Sunwoo was worried about Jung-hwan being alone here.
“Okay, it’s decided then~” Paula waved her hand, gesturing for Taek to get in the car.
"Um... wait a minute..." Aze finally got a chance to speak.
"Huh? I'm warning you! I've already made up my mind, so don't cause any more trouble!"
"You don't want to stay with them too, do you?"
Paula looked at Taek with an unfriendly tone.
"Sister~ don't do this~" Sunwoo quickly interrupted Bora's harsh words to Taek.
Seeing that Bora was interrupted by Sunwoo, Taek cautiously glanced at everyone.
“I saw it over there,” Aze said.
"Huh? What?" Everyone asked in confusion.
“Deok-sun and Seo-woo~” Taek-yi said succinctly.
"What?!!" Everyone exclaimed in surprise.
“Why didn’t you say so just now?” Paula looked at him.
"I was just about to say... Sis, you guys are talking..." Aze indicated that I couldn't get a word in edgewise.
"Where?" Sunwoo asked.
Aze pointed to the beach on the other side of the road.
On the beach, Deok-sun and Yoo Seo-woo, having eaten and drunk their fill, lay on beach chairs, with coconuts—something they'd gotten from somewhere—on the table next to them.
"Really~"
"So you were so hungry that you took other people's things without even seeing them?"
Jung-hwan interrogates the salamander.
The giant salamander looked at Liu Shuyu and Deshan lying on the beach chairs with a pained expression, and at the barbecue grill next to them.
"Mine~ I want to eat~" The giant salamander suddenly burst out, breaking free from Jung-hwan and Sun-woo, and rushed towards Deok-sun and Seo-woo.
Upon hearing the noise, Liu Shuyu yanked the hat off his head and jumped up in surprise.
Σ(っ °Д °;)っ
Instinctively, he shielded Deok-sun behind him, then looked closer and realized that it wasn't a ferocious dog charging at them.
Just one...cough cough~ one...uh.....
It's just a giant salamander~
"Why are you all here!" Deok-sun saw the group from behind Yoo Seo-woo and looked at them with surprise. However, when she saw Bora, she paused for a moment and then subconsciously glanced at Seon-woo.
"Hey~! Sung Deok-sun, you're eating well~" Bora teased with a smirk.
"Mind your own business!" Deok-sun retorted defiantly.
"Say it again?" Paula's expression instantly turned gloomy. The female driver, Sung Paula, who had been annoyed all day, was now on the verge of exploding.
"Ah~~! The weather is so nice~ Paula unnie~"
"Come quick, I'll get you some food!"
"There's still a lot of food left to eat, come and have some with us!"
Liu Shuyu quickly laughed it off.
Bora is the same; whenever Deok-sun provokes her, her anger doubles, as if the two of them are incompatible.
Liu Shuyu cautiously passed by Shanyu, tapped him on the arm, and then walked towards the car.
Sunwoo sighed as if on cue.
"Sis, we're all hungry~ Let's eat something before we go back~ It's going to be late anyway~"
Sunwoo pointed to the sun.
Based on Paula's driving skills~
It takes Liu Shuyu an hour to get there.
Paula drove steadily for over three hours!
When Jung-hwan saw a bicycle pass them, his mind instantly went blank.
Yu Hui peeked at the speedometer and whispered, "25 yards."
Jung-hwan: What? 25 mph? My grandma can run faster than Bora!
.........
"Hey, Dong-ryong, why did you run away from home?" Sun-woo asked, watching the baby fish gobble down its food.
"Sigh~" Upon hearing Sunwoo's question and noticing the stares from all around, the dollfish speechlessly put down the skewers in its hand.
"Can you wait until I'm full before you ask...?" the salamander tried to dodge the question.
"Why? Is it because of the head of student affairs? Did he hit you?"
Jung-hwan didn't give him a chance to escape and pressed him for an answer.
"Because of Minister Zhao." After the dollfish finished explaining, Sunwoo looked at him with a puzzled expression.
"You mean your mother? That Minister Zhao who won the insurance policy king award for five consecutive years?"
Sunwoo listed Dongryong's mother's honors and asked.
"It's not five years~ it's seven years~" the salamander corrected.
"What's wrong with your mother?" Jung-hwan asked, puzzled.
"My mom only knows how to make money. I came out here because I wanted her to know what it feels like to lose her son." The salamander's slightly childish answer left Paula speechless as she picked up the skewer next to her and took a big bite.
"Oh... those were mine..." Yu Hui looked at the skewers he had just grilled being taken away by his older sister, his face full of grievance.
"Here!" Deok-sun handed a few more skewers to Yu-hui.
"Thank you, Second Sister!" Yu Hui happily took the skewers and started grilling again.
“Donglong, why are you suddenly thinking like this? Your mother has been busy for a long time now,” Jung-hwan comforted him.
"But yesterday was my birthday."
"Oh! Happy birthday~" everyone said in unison.
"Heh... thank you~" the salamander continued after being interrupted.
"They promised to make me breakfast this morning."
"But he still left the money and left."
The salamander spoke of its mother as if it had suffered a great injustice.
"Isn't that great? As long as you have money, that's all that matters~" Jung-hwan said, puzzled. He would be so happy if his own mother gave him money to go on his birthday.
"Don't talk nonsense~" Sunwoo shouted at Jung-hwan. He could understand what the doll-fish was thinking. Although he didn't agree with him running away from home, he still knew what it felt like to long for the love of his family.
"In my mother's eyes, customers are more important than children~" The salamander looked at the distant beach, where a couple was walking by with their child.
"Do you know what my wish is?" The salamander smiled and looked up at the group.
"What?" Jung-hwan and Sun-woo asked.
"Mom, there's a dish that's really delicious."
"My birthday wish is simply to eat a bite of my mom's cooking."
"It's a giant salamander," the salamander said sadly.
"What dish? Minister Zhao, do you really know how to cook?" Sunwoo asked curiously.
"Is it instant noodles?" Jung-hwan asked.
"Of course it will be~ seaweed soup~" the salamander said, looking at the two guys who were creating a bad atmosphere.
"As you all know, Minister Zhao and the Dean of Students went out to work when we were young."
"So my brothers and I went out to buy food every day."
"Or I'll just come over to your house for a free meal~"
"But all I want is for my mom to be with me on my birthday, just that one day."
"My mom probably felt bad about it, so she always makes seaweed soup for me on my birthday, and she always puts a big piece of beef in it~"
"But ever since she became the top-performing insurance salesperson, I haven't had the chance to eat seaweed soup on my birthday again..."
Born into a family of five, with both parents working, Liu Donglong knew how busy his parents were and learned to take care of himself from a young age, just like his older brothers.
My biggest birthday wish is simply to drink a bowl of seaweed soup cooked by my mom.
It didn't matter whether her cooking was good or not. Even though his busy mother hadn't cooked for him for years, he still remembered what his mother's seaweed soup looked like.
"Hey!"
"You're so old now, do you still need your parents to take care of you?"
"Look at you now, even the shoes you wore when you ran away from home are designer brands."
"The clothes are all designer brands."
"You should cherish your parents who can dress you so well, you brat!"
"Seaweed soup can be eaten anytime."
"Try to do less things that will hurt your parents; they're already living a very difficult life..."
Seeing the dejected babyfish, Paula, as expected of the adult on whom Lee Il-hwa placed high hopes, made the babyfish lower its head with every word she said.
"Alright, let's eat~" Deok-sun reached out and took the skewers from Yu-hui and handed them to the salamander.
"Second sister..." Yu Hui said, feeling wronged.
"Thank you~ Deok-sun~" Dong-ryong smiled slightly, thanking Deok-sun, but his eyes secretly glanced at Bora.
"Me too~" Jung-hwan said, and Deok-sun handed him one.
“Deok-sun, I want one too~” Sunwoo said, and Deok-sun handed it over.
Sunwoo took two sticks and handed one to Bora. Bora looked at Sunwoo's enthusiastic expression and did not refuse.
"Seriously~ Can't she take it herself?" Deok-sun muttered under her breath, handing one to Yoo Seo-woo.
"Second sister..." Yu Hui looked at De Shan with tears in her eyes.
"What's wrong?" Deok-sun took a bite of her kebab.
"Mine! I baked it!"
Watching my second sister take away the freshly grilled skewers that were just ready in front of me~
First the eldest sister, then the second sister.
After a long day of work, Cheng Yuhui, the barbecue chef, was utterly heartbroken...
