Chapter 162 Magic Night Market
Chapter 162 Magic Night Market
As night fell, Lily, Mo Li and Lei Te returned to the town to take a good rest. However, as soon as they entered the city, they were attracted by a lively hustle and bustle. The streets were lined with colorful lanterns, the air was filled with the aroma of various delicacies, and people were enthusiastic and laughing.
"Is this... a night market?" Lily asked in surprise.
"Yes, it's the Magic Night Market." Lei Te nodded and said, "The Magic Night Market is held in this town on the full moon night of every month. There are not only a variety of delicious food, but also magical items and performances."
Lily and Mo Li looked at each other with excitement in their eyes. The three of them decided to go to the night market together to relax.
They walked through the bustling crowd, tasting all kinds of food: from sweet preserves to spicy skewers, everything was mouth-watering. Lily couldn't help but pat her belly: "The food here is amazing! We are simply on a food adventure!"
While they were enjoying the food, a strange sound of music attracted their attention. In a stall in front of them, an old man in strange clothes was playing a musical instrument that they had never seen before. The instrument looked like a wind chime, but each stroke could produce a different tone, like the sound of nature.
"What instrument is this?" Lily asked curiously.
The old man smiled and replied, "This is a wind chime, a long-lost magical instrument. Each note contains different magical powers."
Lily's eyes lit up: "Can I try?"
The old man nodded and handed the wind chime to Lily. Lily tapped it a few times and immediately felt a warm current spread from her fingertips to her whole body, as if every note was beating.
"This is amazing!" exclaimed Lily.
The old man smiled and said, "The wind chime can not only play beautiful music, but also heal the pain of the soul. You seem to have a deep connection with it."
At this moment, a cold wind suddenly blew, and the light of the lantern swayed slightly. Lily looked up and saw a dark figure approaching quietly in the distance. The man was tall, wearing a black cloak, and his eyes were flashing with a strange light.
"Be careful, someone is coming." Mo Li reminded in a low voice.
The shadowy figure came to the stall and stared coldly at Lily and the old man: "Who are you? Why are you here?"
The old man replied calmly: "We are just ordinary vendors and customers. What can I do for you, sir?"
The shadow sneered: "I'm afraid you're not here just to visit the night market."
Lily sensed an ominous aura and became alert. She quietly held the wind chime tightly, ready to respond to any emergency at any time.
The black shadow suddenly attacked, took out a dagger that flashed with cold light, and stabbed it straight at the old man. Lily was quick-witted and swung the wind chime harp quickly. A golden light flashed, and the black shadow was repelled.
"Who are you? Why are you attacking us?" Lily asked sternly.
The black shadow sneered: "I am Shadow's accomplice, and I have come here specifically to take revenge on you."
Lily's heart trembled, knowing that she had met a tough opponent this time. She and Mo Li quickly entered the battle state and launched a fierce confrontation with the black shadow. The old man played healing music on the wind chime to support them.
During the battle, Lily discovered that the black shadow was much stronger than the enemies they had encountered before, and every move was full of murderous intent. Despite this, she and Mo Li still resisted tenaciously, constantly looking for the opponent's flaws.
As the battle became more intense, other vendors and tourists from the night market gathered around, holding various magic props and helping Lily and Mo Li fight the shadow.
"Everyone be careful, don't get close to his dagger!" Lily warned loudly.
Leiter cast a spell to try to block the shadow's movements. He waved his wand and beams of light shot at the shadow. Although he failed to hit it directly, he succeeded in restraining its movements.
With everyone's combined efforts, the black shadow gradually fell into trouble. Lily seized the opportunity and used the wind chime to send out a powerful sound wave, knocking the black shadow to the ground. Mo Li quickly stepped forward, kicked the dagger away, and subdued the black shadow.
"You can't run away this time!" Lily said coldly.
The shadow struggled for a while, and finally gave up resistance: "You won, but this is just the beginning. We will be back!"
After saying this, he suddenly bit the poison hidden in his mouth and instantly lost his life.
"It seems we have to be extra careful." Mo Li frowned.
Lily nodded. "Yes, this shows that the enemy should not be underestimated. We must find their lair and eliminate this threat once and for all."
Lei Te came over and patted Lily on the shoulder: "You did a good job. The crisis of the night market has been resolved. However, we have to find out the ins and outs of the Shadow Organization as soon as possible."
The old man also came over and said with a smile: "You are very brave. I believe you can defeat the enemy."
Lily held the wind chime tightly, with a determined light in her eyes: "No matter how great the difficulties are, we will not back down."
The hustle and bustle of the night market gradually returned to calm, but Lily, Mo Li and Lei Te knew that this battle was just a prelude. There are more challenges waiting for them in the future, and they will meet these challenges as always.
